We are passionate about helping individuals live successfully in the community. Depending on the level of individual need, staff provide assistance with transportation, cooking, medication monitoring, activities of daily living, and provide opportunities for increased socialization.
The Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) at Cornerstone Montgomery offers support through all phases of recovery. Ranging from programs with staff on site 24 hours a day to programs where clients meet with staff on a drop in basis, individuals in our Residential Rehabilitation Program work with staff to learn the skills necessary to live independently in the community. Residential Counselors are available to support clients with goals of their choosing using a person centered approach, meaning clients lead and direct what they want to work on in their psychiatric rehabilitation.
All referrals for RRP services originate with the Local Behavioral Health Authority (LBHA) who review applications, and manage the wait list for Montgomery County. The LBHA will refer individuals to Cornerstone Montgomery if there is an open placement that would meet that individual’s needs and recovery goals. Once an application is received, our intake department will contact the individual to set up a needs assessment. Applicants will participate in a visit process where they meet with the staff, peers, and entitlements department to gain a better understanding of their benefits as well as program expectations. During this visit process staff will meet with the applicant to assess their individual needs and appropriateness for the placement. This is also a time for the applicant to determine if this placement is a good fit for them. Visits typically last between 5-7 days, after which the supervisor and manager meet to discuss how the visits went and whether the client will benefit from RRP services.
The DBT program specializes in working with individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. Residents participate in skills training at home and with clinical providers. Participants are required to utilize Cornerstone Montgomery’s DBT certified Prescribers and Therapists.
The ITCOD Program, focuses on integrating mental health and substance use disorder treatments for individuals who are dually diagnosed. Participants are required to utilize Cornerstone Montgomery’s Outpatient Mental Health Clinic services with a therapist and psychiatrist assigned to the ITCOD program.
